The launch was covered in snow, filled with pickups and trailers with a few parked on the edge of the ice.  It was a perfect Saturday afternoon on the crappie lake - twenty-five degrees with a slight breeze.  Traditionally, the fish on this water bit during the mid-day hours, spurning the usual dawn and dusk periods for a more angler-friendly afternoon bite.
